Guest Dancer Auditions

Each year, Northwest Dance Theatre holds an open audition for "A Nutcracker Tea", typically in early October. Guest dancers who are cast may perform in roles such as soldiers, mice, angels, gingerbread, and occasionally other parts. Those cast members are required to attend all rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals take place on Saturdays, beginning in mid-October, and last between 1 ½ to 3 hours each week leading up to the seven performances.

There is a nominal participation fee for guest dancers, which helps cover costume maintenance and facility expenses. This offers a unique opportunity to be part of a full-scale professional ballet production, complete with staging, costumes, choreography, and more.
